Lady Elizabeth Carlyon carries a nickname "Bewitching Bet" because those who can see her can't think or dream of another woman. She is staying at her aunt Belinda and her admirers follow her and woo her, but she catches the eye of Major John D'arcy who catches her stealing his cherries.
