Her follow-up novel,<i>The Flamethrowers</i>, was also a finalist for the National Book Award and received rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic. Her fiction has appeared in the<i>New Yorker</i>,<i>Harpers</i>and the<i>Paris Review</i>. She lives in Los Angeles.
