<span>Richard J. Severson</span><span> is an ethicist by training, earning his Ph.D. in religion and ethics from the University of Iowa. For most of his 29-year career in higher education Severson was a librarian. He also taught numerous classes in philosophy, religion, and ethics. Severson is the author of</span><span>Time, Death, and Eternity</span><span> (1995) and</span><span>The Principles of Information Ethics</span><span> (1997).</span>
