Tay Pryor Thomas (1927-2014) began to write poetry as a child, with her first prose poem published in a New York City newspaper when she was seventeen. Since then she has gone on to author five books:<i>Follow the North Star</i>,<i>Only In Alaska</i>,<i>My War With Worry</i>,<i>Cry in the Wilderness,</i> and<i>An</i><i>Angel On His Wing</i>. With her husband, Lowell Thomas Jr., she co-authored<i>Our Flight to Adventure.</i> Tay moved with her husband and children to Alaska in 1960 and lived there for the rest of her life, writing, gardening, becoming a beloved member of her church community and the wider community as she worked for many nonprofit organizations.
