'The Ordonnance de la Marine and the French Insurance practice. The Development of Insurance Contract Law in France from the Guidon de la Mer to the Code de Commerce': Being part of the ERC-funded project 'CHILE', the study examines the influence of the insurance practice on the first insurance contract law in France. Thus, the research focused on the Ordonnance de la marine from 1681 and the precedent French marine insurance contracts. The results of the study established an evident influence of these previous insurance policies on the content of the legal regulations of the Ordonnance de la marine and the following Code de commerce from 1807.

Silvia Kristin Karmann legte nach dem Studium der Rechtswissenschaft an der Universität Augsburg 2014 die Erste Juristische Prüfung ab. Nach dem Referendariat im Oberlandesgerichtsbezirk München absolvierte sie 2016 die Zweite Juristische Staatsprüfung. Von 2016 bis 2020 war sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an den Lehrstühlen von Prof. Dr. Phillip Hellwege und Prof. Dr. iur. utr. Christoph Becker an der Universität Augsburg beschäftigt. Zeitgleich schrieb sie ihre Dissertation im Rahmen des vom ERC geförderten Projekt CHILE unter Betreuung von Prof. Dr. Phillip Hellwege. Seit Oktober 2020 arbeitet Silvia Kristin Karmann als Associate bei Baker & McKenzie in München.
