Community Based Natural Resource Management refers specifically to approaches where authority over natural resources ( particularly wildlife and forest) has been devolved from State to defined groups of resource users on communal land.CBNRM has been of great significance in wildlife management and promoting community participation which is vital in wildlife management. This book focuses on CAMPFIRE program which was implemented in the late 1989 in Zimbabwe. CAMPFIRE has played a pivotal role in ensuring that communities are involved and consulted in wildlife management. CAMPFIRE has successfully succeeded in instilling in communities the need to promote wildlife protection. The book unveil how CAMPFIRE has led to wildlife increase in various areas of Zimbabwe that are endowed with wildlife. In its inception it benefited communities but due to corruption, mismanagement, lack of leadership renewal CAMPFIRE has slowly been hijacked by elites over the years for personal gains and self aggrandizement, posing a threat to direct benefiting of the communities from the program. This book also brings about possible solutions on ensuring that communities are compensated for the cost of living
