This is the first Geographic Information System (GIS) book with more specific for development building damage information system (BDIS) book written from field experience during the author's involvement in the project of rehabilitation and reconstruction after a major earthquake and tsunami in Aceh Indonesia from 2005 to 2008 This book discusses in detail the background of the development needs of application development, physical setting of Banda Aceh city, tsunami and earthquake building damage, methodology of development and the building damage information system as the main output. This book was written and suitable for novice users of geographic information system software and experienced GIS users, especially those interested in the development of geographic information systems for disaster. Edy Irwansyah, master degree in geographic science from the University of Indonesia, in 2001. He received the 2nd M.Sc degree in geographic information system and science from the University of Salzburg Austria, in 2008. Currently, he is a senior lecturer at Bina Nusantara University, Indonesia. research interests including GIS and spatial science
