Time is something that has always fascinated me. Growing up, it was as simple as the passing of a day, or a way to define age. I used to believe we controlled time. It was a man-made measuring tool. Its sole purpose was to shepherd events into accountable packages. But as the years passed, and my curiosity into the sciences grew, I began to ask more pressing questions of this invisible entity. What is its true purpose? And what is its true origin? Even the greatest minds in the history of science have struggled to comprehend what time really means, and have intellectually grappled with where it came from and when it began. Drawing on some of the most distinguished pieces of scientific work ever to grace paper, this book is a referential exploration into the history of how time became the system that defines our entire universe.

Joe Lipscombe received his BA in Journalism from the University of Winchester. From here, he went on to write for several science and business publications across the globe before moving into politics, technology, and current affairs. His dissertation remains a product of his curiosity into the origins of the universe.
