Zusatztext
This book is one of the most complete and credible sources of information about dishwashing (automatic and manual) behaviour in Europe which provides support and guidance for any stakeholder. The energy consumption for automatic dishwashing alone is estimated at around 31 TWh/year in 2015 and 317 million m3 of water, a substantial share of household energy and water use. As the use phase of the dishwasher is the dominant stage where the environmental impact occurs, this book addresses some of the EU consumers' dishwashing behaviour and impact of socio-demographic factors on them. Furthermore, consumers' opinions/expectations about the latest trends in the automatic dishwasher market and Energy Label as an instrument supporting on-going market towards higher energy efficiency by motivating consumers to select more energy-efficient products has been reported in this book. Additionally the manual washing up behaviour of dishes was investigated, too, together with the question why consumers do not own an automatic dishwasher. These information was collected through an online-survey in 12 European countries (Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Turkey), including more than 5000 participants, representing a majority of all households in the EU.
