Zusatztext
Regional integration in Europe is challenged by the recent boost of globalisation. The origins are to be found in the long 1970s of European Integration History from 1969 to the mid-eighties which can be regarded as a period of adaption to global transformation processes. In part for the first time the volume deals with the ECs responses and strategies on the basis of recently accessible international archival sources. The contributions are dealing with the ECs opportunity for action with respect to East-West relations, North-South dialogue, relations to Asia and the new issues of interdependency as monetary, environmental or energy questions. On the whole, it becomes clear that globalisation since the 1970s did not go along with a loss of influence but rather with a realignment and strenghthening of the EC. The authors: Angela Romano, Sara Tavani, Veronika Heyde, Wilfried Loth, Lili Reyels, Guia Migani, Giuliano Garavini, Elena Calandri, Bernd Rother, Hitoshi Suzuki, Tomoya Kuroda, Marie Julie Chenard, Guido Thiemeyer, Thorsten Schulz-Walden, Johan van Merrinboer, Claudia Hiepel, Henning Trk
