'The Tale of Igor's Campaign'' - is the greatest monument of the Old Russian cultural heritage, the historical epopee, created at the end of the Xii century. The main plot of the book is dedicated to the unsuccessful raid against the Polovtsians by the Novgorod-Siverskyy retinue with Prince Igor at the head of it. However in «the Tale of Igor's Campaign» the other events from the Russian history, princely strives, battles of the earlier times are mentioned. While depicting the battles the author does not forget telling about the wives of the Russian warriors. The decoration of the book, its main lyrical topic is «crying of Yaroslavna» - which is striking with the deepness of its dramatic effect monologue by Igor's wife, who is in a sorrow because of her husband's defeat.
