Sexual and gender diversity is increasingly an issue for young people. How does sexuality education meet this need to address diverse lifestyles? A central institution of sex education in Germany is the Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA), which has been obliged to provide uniform nationwide sex education materials since 1992. This study is the first to analyse how gender, lifestyles and practices are portrayed in the BZgA's sex education materials, adopting a diversity-oriented and discrimination-reflective perspective.
