Adaptation of traditional Aipan designs on apparels through printing

Demand of innovative and new changes in the fashion industry especially with respect to designs, is an ever existing fact. Novelty of traditional designs always attracts the consumers. This book explores traditional motifs and patterns of Aipan (floor art) of Uttarakhand in terms of their application and significance. An attempt was also made to diversify the application of these traditional motifs on apparels by their contemporary adaptation for hand block printing using computer aided designing.

The authoress of this manuscript is a junior research fellow and pursuing her Ph.D in Clothing and Textiles at G.B.P.U.A & T Pantnagar, India. She aspires to explore designs from different traditional art forms and their contemporary adaptation on textiles through various methods and technologies.
