This book demonstrates that any discourse falls into one of these two categories: imposed discourse (when the discourse seeks to argue or demonstrate an idea or a fact) or ceremonial discourse (when we have a neutral discussion like talk about weather). The imposed discourse is structured either as argumentation or as a demonstration (when the internal articulation of the discourse is guided by the laws of logic).
