This book is about regional policy of Ukraine, its problems and achievements. In this book current state of Ukrainian regional policy and European approaches are analyzed. There is an analysis of current Ukrainian and European legislation in this field. This monograph is an attempt at a comprehensive approach to exploring the relationship between regional development and national regional policy in the context of Ukraine's integration processes into the Western European area. The determined national course of Ukraine for European integration compels it to take appropriate steps to bring national legislation to European standards, to develop and implement state policy in accordance with European principles, norms and quality standards, to gradually reform the whole system of public administration, to build it on the principles of publicity, transparency, openness, and meeting the citizens needs, etc.

Autorenportrait

Dr. Olena Babinova received her Ph.D. degrees from National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. After it she was a post-doctoral researcher at the Academy and some European universities. The main fields of her research interests are democracy and good governance, European integration, local and regional development.
