Blood transfusion involves the infusion of whole blood or blood components from one individual (donor) to another individual (recipient). The major clinical aspect is the transfusion of red cells. When blood is transfused there are many dangers present, two of which are directly concerned with the antigen content of the transfused blood, the second is incompatibility.
