The negligent manner in which medical practitioners handle their patients cases have become a recurrent decimal in Nigeria today. The consequence is that many persons have been sent to their untimely graves while others remain permanently disabled. In spite of the proliferation of literatures on the law of medical negligence, the level of awareness still remains substantially inadequate. In fact, a vast majority of Nigerians are still largely ignorant of the fact that careless handling of their cases by health workers might give rise to a cause of action. This book discusses the scope of liability of a medical practitioner for professional negligence.
