    • Prof Abhay Karandikar is currently Institute Chair Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay. He was the Head of the Department from January 2012 to January 2015. He has also served as the Head of the IIT Bombay Computer Center (2008-11). He currently heads the IIT Bombay Research Park and is the coordinator of Tata Teleservices IIT Bombay Center for Excellence in Telecom and National Center of Excellence in Technology for Internal Security.Prof. Karandikar is a founding member and currently the Chairman of the Telecom Standards Development Society (TSDSI), India's standards body for telecom set up in 2014. He holds several patents and has published contributions to IEEE standards, contributed chapters in books and a wealth of papers in international journals and conferences. Prof. Karandikar is a two-time recipient of the award for excellence in teaching at IIT Bombay (2006 and 2011). He is a recipient of the IEEE-SA Standards Medallion, VASVIK Industrial Research Award 2010 and The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI)-Reliance Industries Platinum Jubilee Award 2012Dr. Nadeem Akhtar is Principal Wireless Architect at Mojo Networks, where he works on Radio Resource Management (RRM) and Self-Organizing Networks (SON) algorithms for enterprise and carrier Wi-Fi networks. He also provides guidance on planning and deployment of Wi-Fi networks. Prior to this, Dr. Akhtar worked at the Centre of Excellence in Wireless Technology (CEWiT), Chennai, India where his research focused on L2 and L3 aspects of Long-Term Evolution (LTE) systems, particularly on issues related to mobility management, resource allocation and interference coordination. He represented CEWiT at the 3GPP Radio Access Network standardization meetings for 5 consecutive years. Dr. Akhtar has authored/co-authored a significant number of publications in international conferences, magazines and journals, and has contributed to two books.Dr. Nadeem Akhtar received his B.Sc. (Eng.) degree in Electronics from Aligarh Muslim University in 1998, followed by an M.E. in Telecommunications from the Indian Institute of Science in 2000. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Surrey (UK) in 2007.Dr. Mahima Mehta is an LTE Systems Engineer at Intel Mobile Communications, Bangalore. Earlier, she had been an academician and researcher for more than 12 years. She worked as Research Scientist at IIT Bombay for about a year. She led the India-UK Advanced Technology Centre (IU-ATC) project funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST), and also contributed to the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DietY) funded project on Dual Connectivity LTE WiFi Solution for Broadband Wireless Networks. Dr. Mehta represented the IIT Bombay at 3GPP RAN2 standardization meetings. Having served as a Technical Program Committee member at various IEEE conferences, she has authored/co-authored several research publications in reputed journals and national/international conferences. Dr. Mehta received her B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Government Engineering College, Bhopal in 2001 and M.E. from Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) Indore in 2007. She was awarded her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Mumbai, India in 2014.
