Sie untersucht Prinzipien skulpturaler und architektonischer Anordnung sowohl unter dem Aspekt ihrer gestalterischen Ausführung als auch in Bezug auf ihre politischen und sozialen Kontexte.In dieser Publikation stehen zwei Werkgruppen Meises im Mittelpunkt: während die eine Gruppe um das unbelebte Objekt kreist, widmet sich die andere dem menschlichen Körper. Meises Skulpturen sind Bestandteile einer alltäglichen Dingwelt, die sie als Speicher kultureller und sozialer Informationen versteht. In ihren oftmals skizzenhaften und mit handwerklichen Spuren belassenen Ausführungen wirken die Objekte wie grobe, unvollständige Erinnerungen. Michaela Meise works with the formats of video, drawing, performance and sculpture. She examines the principles of sculptural and architectural ordering, both from the perspective of their creative execution as well as in relation to their political and social context.This publication focuses on two groups of work: while one of them is concerned with the inanimate object, the other is dedicated to the human body.Meise's sculptures are components of an everyday world of objects, which she sees as a storehouse of cultural and social information. Through her sketch-like execution, the marks of their rendering often left, the objects seem like rough, incomplete memories.
