- Dieser Band greift das aktuelle Thema der Erinnerungsgeschichte auf. Die Autorinnen und Autoren gehen der Frage nach, wie sich das Wechselverhältnis von erlebten Erfahrungen, Reflexionen und transkulturellen Lebenswelten auf der einen und dem methodischen und theoretischen Nachdenken darüber auf der anderen Seite gestaltet. Dabei wird die Sicht der Migrantinnen und Migranten ebenso berücksichtigt wie die Perspektive der schreibenden Historikerinnen und Historiker. Es geht um historische Empirie sowie um Narration, um Auseinandersetzungen mit der eigenen Biografie wie um die Darstellung der Biografie historischer Subjekte. Die Beiträge wurden auf der Tagung 'Transculturalism and Memory - Understanding Transitions through Life Writings' zum 60. Geburtstag von Dirk Hoerder gehalten und erscheinen hier in deutscher Sprache in überarbeiteter Form.

- This volume takes up the topical issue of the history of remembering. The authors investigate the interplay between experiences, reflections and transcultural life worlds on the one hand and methodical and theoretical reflection on the other, thereby taking into account the migrant perspective as well as that of the historians whose texts they study. The authors are concerned with historical empiricism and narratives, the consideration of their own biographies and the biographical portrayals of historical subjects. Presented at the Conference on "Transculturalism and Memory - Understanding Transitions through Life Writings" on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Dirk Hoerder, the contributions are published here in revised form and in German.>
