- The history of the TH in Vienna in the era from the Anschluss to 1955, when the State Treaty gave Austria its independence back and the Austrian Hochschulen were provided with a common legal basis for the first time through the Hochschul Organisation Act (Hochschulorganisationsgesetz, is marked by numerous profound changes. In addition to addressing administrative developments and the involvement of the TH in the wartime economy, this volume also takes a close look at the staff fluctuations of the time: the expulsion of "racially" or politically disfavoured members of the TH, the denazification after the collapse of Nazi power, and the main features of human resource decisions from 1938 to 1955.

- Der Band gibt einen Überblick über die Geschichte der Technischen Hochschule in Wien vom "Anschluss" bis zum Jahr 1955, als einerseits Österreich mit dem Staatsvertrag seine Selbständigkeit wiedergewann und andererseits die österreichischen Hochschulen mit dem Hochschulorganisationsgesetz erstmals einen gemeinsamen rechtlichen Rahmen erhielten. Neben der Organisationsentwicklung und der Einbindung der Hochschule in die Kriegswirtschaft fokussiert die Darstellung vor allem auf die personellen Veränderungen zwischen 1938 und 1955. This volume provides an overview of the history of the TH in Vienna in the era from the "Anschluss" to 1955, when the State Treaty gave Austria its independence back and the Austrian Hochschulen were provided with a common legal basis for the first time through the Hochschul Organisation Act ("Hochschulorganisationsgesetz"). - Dr. Paulus Ebner studierte Geschichte und Deutsche Philologie an der Universität Wien und ist seit 2001 am Universitätsarchiv der TU Wien angestellt. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Universitätsgeschichte, Studierendengeschichte und Filmgeschichte.
